bdsams Veteran Posted December 21, 2012 Veteran Share Posted December 21, 2012 (edited) If the title makes sense to you, if you could answer a few questions for us ( we will compile the results and share them here too) https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/ZMBRDTW we would be greatly appreciated. Also, there is a random blind drawing ($250 gift card) if you answer all the questions. Thanks, Brad EDIT - SMB = Small/Medium Business Edited December 26, 2012 by bdsams Fixed subject. neufuse Veteran Posted December 21, 2012 Veteran Share Posted December 21, 2012 we can't even think about it, our data is federally regulated and not allowed on a "cloud" service... we have to keep it all in house.. aka the feds want a specific person to throw in jail if it leaks... neufuse Veteran Posted December 21, 2012 Veteran Share Posted December 21, 2012 that title makes no sense "...have moved to the cloud are thinking about it?" you honestly couldn't of put the one missing word in yourself? it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that it says "and have moved to the cloud or are thinking about it"... reasoning skills people... Roger H. Veteran Posted December 21, 2012 Veteran Share Posted December 21, 2012 Work in a small business but bosses don't really like the cloud too much. Some stuff we could do there but i guess recurring costs vs static is always the major concern. Some stuff obviously make sense especially when you don't have that many users (small business). Local stuff if you can manage it yourself wihout it taking up too much of your time to get actual work done is a plus as well though.
Olly-
My employer has leased a cloud SQL Server so that our training records can be accessed and updated from all 14 of our sites at a reasonable speed, which wasn't possible if we kept the data on a server located at one of our depots. We've also started a slow process of migrating from a POP3 email server run in house to Exchange Office 365.
