Thank you for making this possible, and best wishes for Christmas and the new year from the Ad Muncher team!

This is the best system wide adblocker. I'm a bit annoyed that i just renewed my license like a week ago, and they have this sale, but its okay.
Thought i'd share this :D

Get it while its on sale! You wont regret it.

You can get it for free with trialpay, there's a link to it on their website. What I did was sign up for a netflix trial, got admuncher and then cancelled netflix. Total cost? $0.

My problem is, I don't have a credit card. Isn't that required for the trial pay thing? It's been a bad year for me, to say the least. Had to cancel the only CC I've ever owned. It's a long story.....but hey, you know, Christmas is right around the corner...I can't buy gifts, but hopefully, I have some family that can help. Not trying to make a sobbing story, just stating the facts. Not much (if any) christmas happening around my house this year. Makes me sad, too. Sorry, I'm off topic. I'll see what happens, I guess.

There's so many free adblockers, why pay for this? Are there any benefits?

Awesome, just got unlimited.

I've tried all the other ad blockers out there and AdMuncher is by far better...

What a great deal.

Also, Acronis is having a great year end sale on True Image 2012 and Universal Restore for $29.99

Adblock plus is per user blocking, Admuncher is per machine blocking, Secure gateways and network firewalls are per network blocking (without installing any software) :p

It interfaces directly with your computer's network stack and blocks advertising at network level, and it works system wide so advertising will be blocked in all applications, you don't have to download and set up plugins in all of your browsers.

I use wget in a batch file that's ran from my Startup folder that retrieves an ad servers hosts file from a website and gets copied to drivers\etc. It's been working fine so far.

Your hosts file isn't really designed to be used in that way, it's mostly for manual mapping of IP addresses (whilst waiting for DNS changes to propagate and so on). Having hosts files with large amounts of entries in them can cause serious slowdowns of all network traffic due to the way Windows handles DNS caching. ad muncher however has no appreciable effect on that

I guess that's nice for multiple users but many people have a single user machine. I bought AdMuncher many moons ago but decided that Adblock is just as good. BTW, my wife uses my laptop some times and she doesn't want to use any ad blocking software. It's easier for me to just add it to Chrome, which is all I use these days.

Not dissing AdMuncher, though. It's good software.
