Windows XP doesn't boot, after removing GRUB/Linux

Recommended Posts

I removed the GRUB partition and now I want it to boot my Windows XP, but using the recovery console from the Windows XP disk doesn't work for me anymore. The issue is now all it does is say Operating System not found when I try to boot from HDD. I used to be able to remove linux and get Windows booting by just using this command:

FIXMBR

Now I have tried:

FIXBOOT C:

FIXMBR

BOOTCFG /REBUILD

But none of them work for some odd reason.

Is there something I am missing? This method worked for me last time, but now it's being stubborn.

I really don't want to have to reinstall Windows XP as it's already installed on this old laptop.

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks
