EzeAris
Well, i bought a Windows 8 Key and I sent my computer to my tech could update it, what happenned is that the genious insted of using my original key used a pirate one and upgraded the Windows 8 Pro to Windows 8 with Windows Media Center, now I can't use my original key because I have one for Windows 8 Pro. There's a way to downgrade to Windows 8 Pro so I can use my original key? I tried uninstalling Media Center but did not work, and I can't format because I got more than 200 GB on games of Steam installing and it would take me weeks to download and install all again. Please tell me there's a way to solve this, as I said I have an original (actually, two) Windows 8 Pro Keys.
AnotherITguy
Im sorry to hear about your debacle... 1. Hopefully you have that tech's name and company him/her works for so you could report them for this 2. Have you tried changing product keys? a. go to my computer b. scroll down to where it mentions windows Is not activated and/or not genuine. c. follow prompts to change product key This should do the trick, once you change the key, windows should pulverize windows media center as it is not a feature in your genuine product key

I'm from Argentina people installing pirate OS is really common, it was my fault not upgrading it myself but what's done is done. I've already tried with that but I can't use my key as now the OS asks for a Windows Media Center key, and it doesn't matter what WMC key i put, it always will say that is not genuine because of this. The only thing that comes to my mind was downgrading from "Windows 8 Pro with Windows Media Center" to "Windows 8 Pro" so I can replace the pirate key with mine, but I can't seem to find a way to do it.
