Stetson
Actually it would be an A7X chip, the iPad RD 4th gen had the A6X chip I doubt they would switch from the A6X after 6 months.

Stetson
I said the same thing about the A6 which was what Feb? Thinking of the A5X maybe? The original A5 was from March 2011, the A5X a year later was just a graphics boost to allow the retina iPad resolution to work. The A6 and A6X were both released this fall and are based on a new architecture (Apple's Swift ARM core). We may see tweaked versions in the future but probably nothing drastic for a while. +LogicalApex MVC Posted December 28, 2012 MVC Share Posted December 28, 2012 I wonder that too. I hope not. 6 month cycles seem a bit rushed to me. To me, it seems like they may try to push a 6 month tiered release cycle so they don't cannibalize sales too much. What I mean by that is they may do something like the Mini (low end) and the "normal" (high end) on staggered 1 year cycles so they'll effectively be releasing bi-annually, but won't be refreshing lines too fast. If they speed up the releases this is how it will look.

I think 6 month alterations like that will do nothing but make people mad, and make news organizations stop talking about each release like they do now... it's just waste too much of the news's time, and people will start to care less and less
