BSOD while in game

Recommended Posts

Ever since I updated the Nvidia drivers, I have been getting the random BSOD while in the middle of game play. I am wondering if I would benefit from downgrading the drivers, or could there be some other issues?

If you weren't having the problem before, then yeah it's probably worth downgrading. If you're still seeing the issue write down the error codes on the BSOD and Google (or paste here) to try and figure out what's causing it.

Admittedly it is quite rare that a video driver would cause a BSOD these days with the new WDDM, but it's possible.

From Whocrashed:

crash dump file: C:\Windows\memory.dmp

uptime: 02:21:06

This was probably caused by the following module: Unknown ()

Bugcheck code: 0x7A (0xFFFFF6FB40000A40, 0xFFFFFFFFC0000185, 0x115D2D884, 0xFFFFF68000148000)

Error: KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR

Bug check description: This bug check indicates that the requested page of kernel data from the paging file could not be read into memory.

A third party driver was identified as the probable root cause of this system error. It is suggested you look for an update for the following driver: Unknown .
