CAHOKIA, IL ? A police canine with a strong sense of smell is getting credit for nabbing four suspects in a pizza-delivery robbery in Cahokia last week.

The Belleville News-Democrat reports police charged four adults and a juvenile on Saturday with aggravated robbery. Bond was set at $50,000.

Cahokia Police Chief James Jones says a pizza delivery man met two female suspects Dec. 27 at a Cahokia home. They were discussing the transaction when two men approached from the side of the house.

The men allegedly told the delivery man they had a gun but did not display it. The suspects took the pizza and an undisclosed amount of cash.

The victim called police who summoned the dog.

The canine followed the suspects' scents to another residence on the same street.
