The attempt here is to fool customers by confusing WiFi standards with LTE. "Oh did you hear Apple has 5G now. Android is still only 4G." I can hear it already. I don't think it's a good idea to refer to it as 5G because customers will most likely assume it's the successor to LTE (often referred to as 4G). The problem with that is one is a wireless networking standard and the other is a mobile broadband communication standard.
