Broadcom referring to 802.11ac as "5G WiFi"

idk why they had to come up w/ that monicker... just called it 'wireless-ac' or 'ac-wireless'

so this is just to make idiots think the next iPhone which is "5G" is somehow better then 4G LTE phones? sure seems like it... even though this is for 802.11ac not a cellular spec

Where does it say that Apple will use that as the marketing name?

The image which says "5G WiFi" is a marketing image from Broadcom, not Apple.

Either way whoever came up with it needs to pick something else, this will just confuse people later.

I have a 5g and a 4g phone, is that 4g or 4g-lte, no no its 5g and wireless n, wait what?

I don't care who came up with it. I just thought it was funny about the wireless-ac and stupid people comment. So I responded to that.
