I'd figure this place would be a wee more active, with more people getting dslrs, or mirrorless systems. :camera:

Tried to edit the nasty shadows for this last one in lightroom, but my current PC q6600 2gb ram... 768mb vram is slooowwwwwwwww and cumbersome(for spot healing) and photoshop cs4 stopped recognizing my NEF files :s and I don't want to re-install as I'm afraid to lose licence/activation...

edit: How come lightroom4.3 ( or any version for that matter) is slowwwwwwww as hell for anything, but photoshop cs4 isn't blazing fast, but is zippy enough?

I had made an active decision to stop posting in the Neowin Digital Gallery. I found issue with the fact that people would post images of scantily dressed women (which is fine), and that some of the users would follow with undignified comments that I felt did not belong on a forum in which art, ideas and critique were shared. I brought up the issue and nobody seemed to feel the same way, so I decided to stop sharing my images.

It has been quite some time since then, and with odd timing related to Guppy's post, about two weeks ago I decided to start posting here again. Since I "left" the Digital Gallery, I've started working a full time job and I'm 3/5 done with my MBA; as such, free time for photography is quite limited.

-------------
Now, for the image I came to post!

Does anybody know what this is? I shot it about 2 months back during a meteor shower. It looks like a galaxy to me, but I'm not quite sure. The 4 exposures range in time from 6-30 seconds.

Surely is doesn't matter what people post does it?

You post your photos for feedback and can skip past the daft comments / photos :)

How did you catch such a detailed photo of space? It does look like a galaxy
