Custom HP desktop for gaming help

Recommended Posts

I have been attempting to build a computer for gaming. I am trying to play games like Diablo 3 and Guild wars 3, maybe even Skyrim. How would this build work for casual to a bit higher-end gaming? The order total is $1,089.98, is it worth it? Thanks :)

Also, the monitor I plan on getting is:

I'd say you're better off just buying the parts and putting it together yourself

you'd probably be able to get a better power supply and something higher range than the Radeon 7770 and still spend about the same

Without looking at all the game specs you should be fine.

I play Diablo 3 on a Duel core with 3gig of ram and a 6770 (believe thats my gfx card) without much issues only think i question is the PSU as Brando said, also as he said it could be cheaer to build it yourself if you have the time.

I agree with Brando, you should build it yourself and you would be able to get better parts for much cheaper. It's not even that difficult, it's like LEGO...but if you touch them improperly, they break! :p

If you really don't want to do that (which you'd be mad not to) you need a better PSU of around 650W (try and get an 80% EFF one if you can select it) and there really is no need for an i7 if you're not doing video editing. It's just overkill for gaming and you could save the money and get a better GPU (or swap to nVidia, I would recommend that even though I have an AMD GPU currently).

Maybe he did not like your attitudes lol

I am just kidding but just in case he returns - Diablo 3 has very low requirements and it will run fine on the setup but I always found that building your system from the ground up is much more ideal. This way you can focus on the areas specific to your needs and meet the current requirements but allow room for expansion for future projects.
