Lumia 820 SD card reading more than its capactity

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I've had the lumia 820 for a couple of weeks, and it's awesome. I got my 32Gb SD card yesterday, so that I can actually put some music onto it. So, I put the card in, synced the phone using the desktop app - and it threw up a bunch of errors, that some songs couldnt be synced to the phone. Oh well.

But, when I go into the settings, and view the SD card from there - it says there's 34GB of music on the card, withh 12GB free :shiftyninja:

Anybody know what's wrong? I've formatted the card several times and retried but it's happened every time ^^post-276090-0-85609100-1357494252.png

May be a fault with memory card or the OS is buggy.

Is there any way I can test the memory card?

Also - Ive just tried playing a song and the phone crashed on me. It played the song fine, but was non-responsive.

Microsoft has very specific requirements for SD cards used in phones. Read more here http://support.micro....com/kb/2450831

I am using a Sandisk SDHC Extreme 16GB speed class 10, and haven't had any problems.

Like you, I am using a Sandisk Class 10 card. I just tried to sync on my laptop after formatting the card, and now it won't sync at all!

FYI, those guidelines are for WP7's limited SD card support, not Windows Phone 8.

Yes, but that is about the same that my Lumia 820 manual says.
