Oh dear, very bad times. Perhaps HTC should start shrinking their phone lineup...

Yep they should just focus on making one really good phone for android and WP rather than 15 phones for each.

Think all Android manufacturers ahould have 3 model phones only. A low, mid, and high end phone. NO other variants. HTC was producing WAY to many phone models and I am hoping the do scale back and start doing better again. I loved my HTC G1 and HTC MyTouch when. Both solid phones for the time. But all diff models just confuse people when they go to make a purchase.

I think they have started to do so but it could be a little too late. Maybe they will start to turn it around more for Q1 2013, otherwise they'll end up in the red next time for sure.

The problem with HTC is even their support of Android is pretty shocking and their entrance into the Windows Phone market has basically been half assed. Why is it that I can only buy an HTC 8S where I live and there is no option to buy the 8X model? why doesn't HTC talk directly to retailers and bypass the carriers altogether? honestly, I swear companies like HTC set themselves up to fail deliberately so then they can take on the martyr complex they apparently love so much.

Shame, they get dumped on by Nokia with Windows Phones, and dumped on by Samsung with Android phones.

Other than AT&T refusing to push any updates at all to my phone, been very happy with my HTC Titan.

They need to spend more on marketing, improve battery life and the quality of their cameras, and drop the gimmicky Beats Audio "sound enhancement" feature. If they do that, then they'll be better-equipped to compete with Nokia and Samsung.

The quality of their displays is great and the design of their smartphones are aesthetically pleasing.

shame, because you cant really find a better looking or spec'd android phone than the dna/j butterfly. Im really happy with my DNA, although I would like AOSP over sense, I can just download my favorite launcher from the market that I would have used on an AOSP rom anyways and its close enough for now.

the battery on my DNA is actually really good. I was worried at first but those worries were quickly thrown out, also don't be so quick to dismiss the "Beats" thing. Although I have it on, I couldn't really care less, just adds a little more bass it seems. That being said the marketing behind that is very strong, and stands up very well with the younger crowds.

Shame really as HTC make much better phones than Samsung i think.

The Galaxy Nexus is great, however in general I have never been keen on the style of Samsung phones or Touch Wiz. Where as HTC's Sense has always been pretty nice and the design of the phones has always appealed to me.

As others have said though HTC just churn out way too many phones, Have 3x... High End, Mid Range and Low End, then a couple of Windows Phones too. I really see no need to churn out the amount of phone HTC do.

They have too many phones with a rather unclear branding scheme.

If I were to buy a Samsung I'd know that I'd just have to go for the Galaxy Sn (plus "mini" if I want something smaller), where n being the highest number would mean the latest and greatest.
On Samsung's mid-low range their branding becomes muddier, but they at least have a clear and simple flagship line.

HTC? I have to dig and find out the differences between OneS, OneX, OneX+ or OneV.
And same goes for Sony.
