LENEXA, Kansas (AP) — Police say a northeast Kansas man accidentally shot his wife at a restaurant when his concealed weapon discharged.

Lenexa police say the man had a small caliber handgun in his pocket while dining at the Longbranch Steakhouse last week. Officer Dan Friesen says the man reached into the pocket and accidentally discharged his weapon. His wife was treated and released at a hospital for a wound in the leg.

Police say the man had a valid concealed carry permit and the proper training but the state likely will revoke his permit.

The restaurant's manager says the company is now considering banning customers from bringing in concealed firearms.

Clearly, this just goes to show that only criminals should be allowed to carry guns. Only they have a legitimate reason to have/use them. After all, only they know how to properly use them.

you missed what he meant, the underling thing is the acceptance that guns can and will always be lethal even in the hands of trained legal people contrary to what some people believe.

Or it just goes to show they will let anyone have a gun with the correct paperwork, I don't have a gun and even I know that the safety should be on, this guy clearly doesn't know or care.

same could be said about EVERY freaking person with a valid drivers license.. At least make a valid argument not just:

More threads where people are against the second amendment. If you don't like guns your in the wrong country, go move to the UK then you wont have to worry about gun crimes.

Not true in the U.K they had over 6000 gun crimes last year.You wont hear them complaining about that though,they'd much rather complain about us.
