LaP
Well open MPC and drop the file into the window. The extension is probably not associated with mpc and i don't think xp has built-in support for mp4.
Mindovermaster Moderator Posted January 11, 2013 Moderator Share Posted January 11, 2013 I don't think WLM plays MP4 natively, in XP, at least. Try VLC?
iMrns
MPC-HC does nothing... divx+ and vlc says "the above file name is invalid".

lars77
Is the filename and/or folder path really long? e.g. rename the file, erase whatever it's called, & just call it "this.mp4" & see if that plays. Likewise, try moving your newly-renamed .mp4 file up a few directories (e.g. move the file into the C:\ folder) & try to play the file from there. LaP
If you have a nVidia card and use DVXA to play the file try to use software ffmpeg instead. I dunno why but i just upgraded my card from a 6950 to a 670 and i can't play mp4 using hardware acceleration anyone in mpc-hc and powerdvd.
