Internal Wifi stopped working

Recommended Posts

Today for no apparent reason, my netbook wifi does not detect any wifi signals.

Running Windows 7, Atheros adapter.

I've tried Reinstalling the chip set drivers, the Wlan drivers.

I ran an Error check.

Device manager shows that 'this device is working properly' -- yet no wifi.

I can plug in my external wifi antenna, and I get wifi just fine.

Unless the internal wifi hardware just died, I do not know of any software solutions.

Any help appreciated.

Routers are not the problem.

My netbook red/orange wifi light does not come on.

Windows can not install a driver for the internal wifi adapter. (tried Uninstalling drivers)

Opening up the bottom panel, I saw nothing loose, or damaged about the wifi chip.

I am on the Internet just fine, using the external wifi adapter/booster.

Did you accidentally hit the turn off wifi key? Usually something like Function+7

Yea & see if there is a little physical switch on the side of the laptop for the wifi

OOPS ! :s I appologize to all.

There is a small, almost unnoticable switch under the wifi light -- Never noticed it was there.

Problem FIXED ! :D

Thanks.
