Cant access steam?

Hi All
i havent used my steam account for a while - maybe for years,,, now ive tried installing it and accessing it and its not recognising my username.
Do they prune old accounts?!

Have you tried sending a reset to your email ?

Yeah, just says unknown error....
Not sure i still have access to that email i used either :/

If you can prove it was your account I would contact steam, if you have a load of games associated with it anyway, if not, just make a new account

No. Accounts are permanent. It's no help for your current situation but I'd highly recommend keeping an encrypted database of all your accounts, along with usernames and passwords. It's very hard to keep track of digital accounts these days, especially when every website seems to need a unique account with various abstract password requirements.

Do you have any friends on Steam? They could confirm your account name, which would help in trying to get access to it.

Id used the wrong user name haha it came to me this evening what my name was
NW|Storm - NW = Neowin!
