Windows 8 PC Settings problem

Recommended Posts

Hello everybody.

So I recently refreshed my PC with the refresh option, and after installing stuff, I went to PC Settings app, and it looks all black, like this.

I though about refreshing again, but it would be a pain to re-install everything again.

Any Idea why Is this happening or how to fix it? Any help would be appreciated.

I think I -may- know what could've gone wrong. From around a few weeks from now, if you install Windows 8 with a supported NVidia graphics card, Windows will automatically download one from NVidia but barely modified (ie. it's not the Microsoft Corporation one, it's instead an older 306.97 one). That happens at the first boot after the OOBE stage while having an Internet connection working already along with enabling Windows to update the device drivers.

First of all, try to remove the NVidia one. Then once that's done, reboot your PC.

After that, you can install the latest one (310.90 WHQL), and perhaps a reboot isn't mandatory this time, but still highly recommended.

Hehe, no problem Necronos.

I just remembered a familiar situation with myself and a friend of mine, and I was like "Hey.. this might be it?"

Glad it works! :)
