How to beat folliculitis scalp infection?

Recommended Posts

I have folliculitis on my scalp. It has caused me bald spots, pussing, scarring, bleeding, you name it. I been on Doxycycline and right now I am taking Doryx once a day as well as using Clindamycin smeared on my head once/twice a day.

It keeps coming back and sometimes my neck glands get swollen as well. I feel like my Dermatoligist isn't doing much to help! He sent out samples to the "lab" and they came back negative with anything.

Does anyone have any input on this as to what I can do? I been battling this for YEARS. I don't understand why it will not go away! Highly irritated with this. I stay on top of my treatments and everything. Some times it goes away and then comes right back. I shave my head to EASE the pain when I am not suppose to, like what am I to do? Someone help me before I go insane....

See a doctor / dermatologist?

Seriously that's my best suggestion...

the dermatologist will just chop and change antibiotics

there isnt much more medical science could do......well there is, but most people wouldnt want to be on drugs that will cause more harm than good.

this stuff takes time, if you're desperate try herbal stuff and check with the pharmacist.

or ask to see another dermatologist!!!!

My brother used to suffer a few years ago on the scalp also, if i recall correctly he was given steroid based shampoo's and creams etc, seemed to slowly stop it, obviously there are different levels of this though! The creams and shampoos were obtained through our local doctors.

I suggest hypnotherapy, to get at the root cause. ;)

Such diseases are caused by mental, psychological, emotional issues.

True, they have nothing to do with any form of virus or bacteria. Its all in your head. Just like Aids, Cancer, etc.
