According to Vulture, Warner Bros. Pictures is negotiating with Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment to reboot their 1984 horror comedy, Gremlins. Apparently there have been numerous attempts to get the wheels in motion on this over the years but things always fell through, however, sources claim that this time it's looking good. That's pretty much all the info out there at the moment but we'll update if we find anything else out.

Good lord, how about an original idea once in a while. There is nothing wrong with Gremlins its a cult classic.

Maybe pen a new Gremlins film, it's not like we know the life span of a Mugwai is it?

I'd rather see another sequel rather than a reboot. Gremlins the original was fantastic.. Hollywood needs to leave these movies be.

Hollywood seems stuck in reboots... I guess there's no one there with an original ideas anymore...

Reboots are the new thing in Hollywood...even if they have done it for generations, it is becoming blatantly obvious, and most of the time they don't even rewrite the scripts very much, or even do much other then changing the title a bit.

Meh, hollywood is so blah it isn't even funny - trying to draw crowds via 3D for re-releases that happened like a decade ago, and milking technology for the sake of looking bleeding edge.

That said, leave this IP alone!
