France to deport radical Muslim clerics

French Interior Minister Manuel Valls said Tuesday that Paris is set to deport a string of radical religious imams as part of a fight against "global jihadism".

"Several radical foreign preachers will be expelled in the coming days," Valls told a Brussels conference called to tackle extremism in Europe, without identifying any of the individuals concerned.

"I don't confuse this radical Islam with the Islam of France but there is a religious environment, there are Salafist groupings, who are involved in a political process, whose aim is to monopolize cultural associations and schools," he added.

"We will expel all these imams, all these foreign preachers who denigrate women, who hold views that run counter to our values and who say there is a need to combat France.

"We have to be extremely firm and that I will be," he said.

Although I approve of still begs the question what is "extreme"? I mean I have met some extremist in my life and I gotta say that there is only one difference between the extremist and the blind follower and that's that one is quieter than the other.

Can we deport the extremeist christians too ?

I hate to put it bluntly but the solution to all this mess in europe is seperation of church and state.

To put it bluntly, if you move to a country where your beliefs directly conflict with the beliefs of said culture and you are actively forcing your beliefs on those around you, you are being extreme.

Example: If my beliefs are that women are not equal to men, yet I live in a country where in their culture they are equal, the last thing I should be doing is practicing my belief that women are not equal.

Note: Obviously this is my own opinion. I firmly believe that anyone who moves to a country with a different culture and or belief system, you should be adapting. Otherwise, what was the point in moving there?

Why let them into France in the first place? What benefit are they to the economy? All they do is build mosques everywhere, and create trouble because "they are always right, and if you don't listen to us will will ...".

Don't boil me,

I'm still alive!

Politicians should be looking into reducing multiculturalism. But no, they're too focused on their parties and luncheons.

Let's hope that you don't speak for the Irish people. Why are you so against freedom? Why does freedom bother you so much?

I admit that I don't really care for Atheists but I think they deserve freedom to believe in what they do.

Europe has always been and will always be a mess and religion could be excluded and it still will be the same mess.

Did religion cause the financial mess in Europe? um No

Did religion cause most of the wars in Europe in the 20th century? um No

Did religion cause communism in Eastern Europe? um No

Did religion cause the potato famine in Ireland? um No

So, I really think you have very poisoned views about things. You almost use religion as "what is wrong with the world" and you would be very wrong.

###### does creating church/state separation have to do with hating freedom? If anything, in enhances and protects religious freedom, it doesn't reduce it. Get a clue.

---------------------------------------------------

Frankly, if you like living in ignorant backwaters with barbaric cultures (stonings, beheading, oppressive religious control etc.), there are plenty of them in the Islamic world. Why people insist on leaving these hell-holes and bringing their fanaticism with them I'll never know.

I was talking about this comment and his entire attitude on people with faith.

Anyone with an active role in lawmaking should not be basing them on religious beliefs, as how do you know WHICH religious belief is the "right" one? The ONLY fair way is to remove religion from government completely.

Europe has always been and will always be a mess and religion could be excluded and it still will be the same mess.

A mess? You might want to try cleaning your own back yard before criticising your neighbours.

Did religion cause the financial mess in Europe? um No

No, American bankers did.

Did religion cause most of the wars in Europe in the 20th century? um No

Most of them had some religious aspect to them, as well as political and financial. America's "war on terror" is 100% a religious war. It's your modern day Crusades against the "evil Moors".

Did religion cause communism in Eastern Europe? um No

Did religion cause the potato famine in Ireland? um No

Someone has a poisoned view of things around here, but it's not TPreston.

That's not an attitude against religious people. That's an attitude against EXTREMISTS. You really need to learn to read.

Oh, unless you support extremist christians that is... Do you?

I wasn't talking about that. I was talking about his intolerance towards religion. Everyone with a brain knows that you all want to wipe religion off the face of the Earth.

That isn't exactly a secret. Oh sure you hide behind state and religious separation, but most of you want the "ignorance" to be gone. Let's not hide the truth here.

America has some things wrong with it sure. I am not going to deny that. However, Europe has been a mess for a long time. History shows this quite well and nothing has changed.

No, American bankers did.

Well, that isn't religion and I am sure some people on here will twist it and rewrite history just like they always do and blame it on religion.

Just like Hitler was supposed to be a "Christian" as Atheists always try to make something up to rewrite history.

Same thing over and over. Atheists try to use propaganda to push their point of view.

Most of them had some religious aspect to them, as well as political and financial. America's "war on terror" is 100% a religious war. It's your modern day Crusades against the "evil Moors".

Wrong again. America's war on terror about being a 100 percent religious war is as ignorant as saying Obama is a Muslim and he wasn't born in the U.S.A. You anti-religious people are just as nutty as the people you yell about. Let's stop re-writing that history.

Sad... Sad... Sad...

Extremist Christians? Oh, you mean the people that go to Sunday School every Sunday and go to church on Wednesday? You mean those people?

I'm just curious. Why shouldn't all religion be "wiped off the face of the Earth"?

You'd be hard pressed to find a single religion that isn't hypocritical, doesn't single out specific races or other religions, doesn't single out the sexuality of others, doesn't treat one sex completely unfairly over the other...

What you think "we atheists" want has bugger all to do with any reality, pal. First, "we" are not a "we" at all, and second, all atheists I know couldn't give a damn what you want to believe as long as it doesn't affect our lives in any way, shape or form.

America has some things wrong with it sure. I am not going to deny that. However, Europe has been a mess for a long time. History shows this quite well and nothing has changed.

Again, check your own back yard first. America's rapidly heading down the crapper.

Do you ever get bored with lying and making stuff up all the time?

"'I am driven with a mission from God'. God would tell me, 'George go and fight these terrorists in Afghanistan'. And I did. And then God would tell me 'George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq'. And I did.

And now, again, I feel God's words coming to me, 'Go get the Palestinians their state and get the Israelis their security, and get peace in the Middle East'. And, by God, I'm gonna do it."

George Bush Jr

100% a religious war. You need to listen to what your own idiot president at the time was saying at the time.

Extremist Christians? Oh, you mean the people that go to Sunday School every Sunday and go to church on Wednesday? You mean those people?

No, I mean the extremist christians who do things like set fire to abortion clinics or shoot doctors who perform abortions, picket the funerals of innocents and say god did it because he hates gays, deny homosexuals equal rights because "god says the gay is evil". All of that kind of horsecrap that actually seems quite prevalent in American christians. How is that kind of obscene behaviour any different to the mullah's who incite hate against non-muslims?

Plenty of those, too. Don't defend them.

Just like Hitler was supposed to be a "Christian" as Atheists always try to make something up to rewrite history.

He was a Roman Catholic. That isn't an atheist rewrite. It's cowardly religious zealots who try to hide the fact Hitler was a Christian.
