Transfer contacts from old blackberry to new blackberry without USB cable?

Recommended Posts

Hiya

Someone I work with has just got a new Blackberry (work phone) as the USB port on the old phone doesn't work, which means the phone can't be charged or connected to a pc.

He has about 300 contacts and it would be a nightmare to set all of these up again.

I transferred contacts from the SIM card onto his new phone but there are a lot missing.

Using the desktop manager is out of the question because of the aforementioned broken USB port.

I tried saving contacts to SIM but can only do this one at a time.

I googled and found that you cannot save all contacts to a microSD card.

I googled and found out that Google Sync for Blackberry was discontinued.

I took a Bluetooth dongle into work and paired the phone with the PC, but the blackberry software doesn't find the device even though the PC itself has no problem in doing so.

I googled wifi syncing but apparently you have to connect the phone with a USB cable before this can be done (why RIM why?!)

Does anybody else have any ideas as to how we can transfer contacts?

Thanks in advance :)

e-mail the contacts file ... ?

Is that done through contacts or through a file manager/email compose screen?

I know diddly squat about blackberry phones :p

I transferred my gf's contacts from her bb 9700 to a windows phone just using the nokia Bluetooth tool.. you should see if their are any apps in the blackberry app store for Bluetooth contacts transfers.

Worked perfectly thanks :D

I had already transferred his contacts to his car bluetooth system using that exact method, so I have no idea why I didn't think of using that method for the phone too! D'oh.
