Ve7878
I've noticed when I installed it on another PC that Skype 6.1.60.129 has been released. Doesn't show up on Help > Check for Updates on my other computers and has to be installed manually. Haven't noticed many changes yet though the contact list and some window elements have a more ModernUI feel to it and looks a lot more in place in Windows 8. Nogib
Not quite sure what is going on with all these Skype versions as of late. Still running 6.1.0.129 which says it is up to date yet I can manually download 6.1.73.129 and now 6.1.60.129. Stranger still is that all were built the same day (Jan 8). Does anyone know what the significance of the third number in Skype's version really is?

I had 6.1.0.129 before which didn't have the Office 2013 looking header above the contact list.
goretsky Supervisor Posted February 1, 2013 Supervisor Share Posted February 1, 2013 Hello, As far as I can tell, Skype is using the following system for versioning: {major version number}.{minor version number}.{business partner or campaign number}.{build number} For example, I tried downloading the latest version of Skype using four different "direct download" URLs (which actually redirected me) and here's what I got in each case: Download Link: www.skype.com/go/getskype File returned: download.skype.com/052467f8a05ac588a5a956e332e6ac41/partner/59/SkypeSetupFull.exe Size: 30,755,584 Version: 6.1.59.129 MD5 hash: 563EC709BEB776B01989235337FBAED1 Download Link: www.skype.com/go/getskype-samplinga File returned: download.skype.com/052467f8a05ac588a5a956e332e6ac41/partner/59/SkypeSetupFull.exe Size: 30,755,584 Version: 6.1.59.129 MD5 hash: 563EC709BEB776B01989235337FBAED1 NOTE: Returns same file as first download Download Link: www.skype.com/go/getskype-samplingb File returned: download.skype.com/052467f8a05ac588a5a956e332e6ac41/partner/60/SkypeSetupFull.exe Size: 30,742,784 Version: 6.1.60.129 MD5 hash: 4026E8B364DD15DC5E2A08A950F8C384 Download Link: www.skype.com/go/getskype-samplingc NOTE: no download, redirected me to blog Download Link: www.skype.com/go/getskype-msi File returned: download.skype.com/052467f8a05ac588a5a956e332e6ac41/SkypeSetup.msi Size: 22,589,440 Version: unknown (don't have Orca installed on this PC) MD5 hash: 68F071A71D2D8578C32C66B5203C140D Based on those, plus the versions mentioned in this message thread, I just tried some different numbers after the partner field, and got the following back: Download Link: download.skype.com/052467f8a05ac588a5a956e332e6ac41/partner/49/SkypeSetupFull.exe Size: 20,903,528 Version: 6.1..29 MD5 hash: 07356626437A164BB31285D2303DFEFB NOTE: same as partner "61" download Download Link: download.skype.com/052467f8a05ac588a5a956e332e6ac41/partner/60/SkypeSetupFull.exe Size: 30,742,784 Version: 6.1.60.29 MD5 hash: 4026E8B364DD15DC5E2A08A950F8C384 NOTE: same as getskype-samplingb download Download Link: download.skype.com/052467f8a05ac588a5a956e332e6ac41/partner/61/SkypeSetupFull.exe Size: 20,903,528 Version: 6.1..29 MD5 hash: 07356626437A164BB31285D2303DFEFB NOTE: same as partner "49" download As to the differences between the builds, I'm not certain, but given the 9.6MB of difference beween the largest and smallest builds, I'm wondering if it might be the inclusion of additional software? That seems to be a large amount of space for just configuration customizations (although it certainly could be that).
