Hard Drive and NAS question

Recommended Posts

Can you plug Serial ATA drives into a NAS (or anything for that matter) while the system is powered on or should you power it off first? I have a Dynology DS1511+ with a DX513 expansion unit with all the bays but 1 filled. I want to plug the new drive in while it's on but I want to make sure that's OK before I do it.

You should be fine connecting another drive. The NAS you've bought has support for hot-swappable drives.
