AndyD
I was thinking of this case... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811112388 But some of the reviews I've read make it sound like it's not worth the $$$ I'm willing to spend no more than $250. I'm currently using... http://lian-li.com/v2/en/product/product06.php?pr_index=143&cl_index=1&sc_index=38&ss_index=96 With a hotswap cage in the 5.25 cage which I prefer to get rid of
Winslayer
http://www.newegg.co...N82E16811129100 This is the case I have. It's pretty awesome if you don't mind the lights (I like em!) And it's cheaper.
AndyD
Lights actually may be a little too much for me. I should elaborate - the case will be sitting in my living room as I'm currently using it as an htpc as well
tim_s
I have the Antec Twelve Hundred and the Dark Fleet 85 which both can cover your needs - You can just not power the front fans and thus the LEDs will not show or you can remove the LEDs to maintain the fans (noting this cannot be reversed easily.) P.s. I like your choices the Lian Li series are simple / clean looking.

Arkos Reed
Enermax Fulmo GT, I have one, it's a monster, it can house at least 10 drives as-is, and if you add 5"1/4 converters, it can go up to 14 http://www.enermax.c...2&lv1=22&no=179 edit: whoops, didn't see the lights requirements, nevermind (I use mine as a server in a locked room) the Fractal Design Define XL will better fit your needs
TPreston
Is it for a home server if so norco rpc 20 hotswap bay cases are not far off your buget
AndyD
Thanks guys...that Fractal case may be the winner though I do prefer aluminum cases... tim_s - Yeah I really like Lian Lis clean looks and it fits my living room. I built most of my PCs using their cases till I got a Corsair for my main desktop recently Luc2k - definitely will further read into this one Arkos - yeah. Originally I was going to have a separate server and htpc. I ended up combining because I figured that the server would always be on whenever my HTPC was as well so why not consolidate. So far so good. I'm using Win 8 (used to be WHS 2011) + Drive Bender (still on the fence about using some form of RAID). I do have two rooms where I could separate the two and not be it an issue with space but for now not sure I want to go down that route TPreston - I wish I could have a closet where I could build out a rack. Maybe one day when I own a house :)

Crisp
It's more than what you want to spend, but if I had the money I would love a PC-A77F

sc302 Veteran Posted February 7, 2013 Veteran Share Posted February 7, 2013 I know of a 36 bay, but it is a bit out of your price range, by almost 10 times. http://www.wiredzone.com/Supermicro-CSE847AR1400LPB-Rackmount-4U-w--1400W-Redundant-P-Supply~10019702~0.htm

ajcdotme
My dev server at the house is built inside a LIAN LI A76 and I've been very happy with the build quality and airflow inside the case.
Teebor
Thermaltake and Antec cases usually have a range with a large number of 3.5 inch bays, and they are of good construction (Y)
AndyD
Thanks guys for the suggestions! Will be reading about the A76 and Silverstone along with Fractal. They all seem to be great options though I like the additional cooling that Silverstone has for the drives (heatsinks). I'll look into Caselabs as well Teebor - thermaltake / Antec usually have cases that have more styling than I would want for a living room. I like a clean look with minimal lights. I plan to tape up any bright LEDs if necessary sc302 - I wish I had space for a rack. Well, technically I do but it'll be harder for me to get that set up without having proper cooling and longer cable runs
AndyD
I think I'm set with the Fractal Design Define XL but the revision 2 due out this month.
aniv
Lian Li since you prefer aluminum and it has 10 3.5" drive bays + 5x 5.25" drive bays that you can put some hotswap modules in. I have some of their cases and they are solid built. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811112343&Tpk=PC-A71FB
AndyD
That seems like a good option too. Ah now what to do lol. Thanks Aniv. I'll read up on it.
