For several weeks and months my Acer Aspire one running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit when I open the lid of the system I am not always able to turn the brightness or sound up or down with the FN key (and the arrows) without rebooting. This is getting rather tiresome and annoying.. How can I fix this?

Reinstall the quicklaunch button drivers ?

I most likely don't know what those are or how to reinstall them anyway. Guess I could live with it.

They are usually the buttons on the F keys that you use by pressing the Fn key along with whichever F key you want

Just goto the laptops manufacturers site and download and install all the drivers available, one of them will be for those keys
