Ironman wont stop spinning to the right! Help me please!

Recommended Posts

For my nephews 6th birthday, I bought him a Nintendo Wii and a few games. Everything works perfectly on every game, except for Ironman.

While in Ironman, it is very hard for him to control the character, as he apparently just keeps spinning to the right.

Now, I haven't witnessed this myself, as I haven't been there to see it. But my sister and nephew keep calling me and asking me if it is normal, if so, that it is very dizzying, and if not, how to fix it?...

Both my sister and I are very ignorant when it comes to anything Wii related. The first time I really even used one was for the breif time I set it up for them and tested out the Batman 2 Lego game. ( very fun though )

I haven't been able to find anything related to this online.

I was thinking this might be a calibration setting.... That maybe Ironman is controlled via how you point the wiimote, but my sister can't really tell me for some reason if it is so. She just says, " There is no stopping him from spinning."

So any clues or help that someone can throw my way?

Thanks for any help guys.

Same here. I've been looking all over the internet today, and absolutely nothing is there about such an issue.

Guess I'll just have to make the hour long trip to try and put my magic hands to work :p AAARRRGGG lol

My quick guess is he is holding the Wiimote the wrong way. if he was pointing it like a wand, and not holding it sideways for example, I think that may force Iron Man to just go in circles no?

That is exactly what I thought. I have no clue though if Ironman is directed by the direction of the wiimote. My sister is too ignorant about consoles to answer my questions, and well, you know how very young kids explain things.... I can't make any sense from that :p

If the character is controlled via how you face the wiimote.... would a little calibration probably be the answer? I can walk her through that over the phone I'm sure :)

Sure calibration would help. Holding it the right way would probably help more though.

I could be wrong here, but I am pretty sure every Wii game when it starts up tells you the proper way to hold the Wiimote. I would tell your sister to pay attention when the game starts up, as it could be just as easy as that. I would also not be surprised if the game uses the nunchuck as well? Actually yes it does, found this on an Amazon review for the game...

Only big downside for me is flight controls require aiming both Wii remote & Nunchuk. If you're not 100% focused on what each hand is doing you'll have a hard time steering while in flight mode.

Taken from the Amazon page for the game.

So assure the nunchuck is hooked up, and if it is, that he is using it and it is not face down on the ground pushed to the right, and that is why it is going in circles.

Honestly based on that above quote though, sounds like the games controls may just be hard.
