help HTC 8S Screen Replacement :(

Hi, my mum dropped her recently purchased (under a month) HTC 8S. The screen smashed on part of it along with scuffs around the casing. The touch screen still works, it's just the glass on top which is damaged.

She got it through a contract with Phones4U/Vodafone.

Vodafone want her to take it in store so that they can quote a price, or they will send home an envelope and quote a price when sent to them

HTC are picking it up tomorrow and will quote a price to fix it. (HTC doesn't seem to freely cover this in the warranty)

We are not quite sure if we can claim it on our home insurance, but if we do there will be a ?50 excess.

I've looked online for replacement screens, but can't find any anywhere. (I've fixed multiple screens before)

My question is, is there no cover for accidental damage, so soon after purchase, especially on a contract? Or can anyone link me to a replacement screen. Failing that, anyway to get a free/cheap replacement?

The quote from HTC came in at ?100! :/ Hopefully knocked down by 50% on the home insurance.
