Hum
(Reuters) - A German teenager looking for a job was told to report for duty in a brothel by the local labor office, the Augsburger Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper reported on Wednesday. The 19-year-old woman said she was horrified when she opened a job placement letter from the German Labor Office in Augsburg on Saturday informing her that it had lined up a waitressing job for her at the Augsburg Colosseum brothel. "I was looking for a decent housekeeping job - not working at a brothel bar," the young woman told the newspaper. "I was totally shocked when I read the letter. My mother even started screaming out loud when she read the letter." Prostitution is legal in Germany. The head of the Augsburg labor office, Roland Fuerst, was quoted by the newspaper saying that the agency had made a mistake even though it knew the Colosseum is a brothel. He said that the agency should have first called the woman to check to see if she might be interested in the brothel job rather than simply sending her a letter. source

Arceles
19yo considered a teen? I just don't get it. REALLY? Nine-teen. There is a reason because the numbers 13-19 have -teen ending. (German numbers have also the same -zehn albeit in German) so, this is clearly ok written. +hedleigh and shakey 2 Share

Azusa
I guess you are arguing about semantics so I'll pass. no he's arguing the fact that someone who is 19 is still classed as a teen it's not a life stage like child or adult it's an age group. #Michael
Here in the states 18 is considered legal age where one can buy porn and participate in it. So I am not sure what the problem is. Was she upset that the labor office placed her there and she is against brothels or are we complaining that she is 19? Either way it is a job... Hum
^ She was recommended to 'waitress' -- not be an actual prostitute. I do wonder if the mother feared she would be drawn in to the sexual part ....

OK so a person can be a teen and adult at the same time? Isn't 18+ considered adult as an age group? A teen means a teenager and usually teenager is the age group between children and adult? Anyway this is way off topic.
DocM
The whole age X = adult paradigm is screwed up anyhow - the brains frontal lobes are not fully developed & their inhibitory functions intact until the early 20's. Should return to an age of majority of 21 IMO. In this case, anyone should be able to decline a job offer like this without reprisal if it violates their concience.
