PBX open discussion

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

Right now I have a friend who works for a small call center and the challenge is, the current software he is using is representing a large percentage of over heads for the company.

They reached out to me but this is not my specialty, in-fact the PBX we have installed currently in my company was done so by a 3rd party whose quote was way out of their price range.

Any smaller companies with any home brewed solutions care to share cost saving measures?

look into a hosted voip solution. The low upfront cost may be beneficial to your call center company. for 10 phones we are at 300 a month, 500 with internet, 600 after taxes and what not (2 locations, 100 each location for internet). vocalocity, your cable provider, mitel, and your phone provider should all offer cloud/hosted voip solutions. Figure around ~$40 a phone per month starting after taxes and what nots, plus your internet connection that will support the volume. This also gets rid of the phone bill as well as long distance. The only thing they need to pay their phone company for is for pots lines for faxing.

tim_s, i responded to your pm.

there are quite a few ways to cut some costs here. much of it depends on concurrent call paths, existing hardware, and stability of the configuration (is it a set-it-and-forget-it config or does it constantly change?)

i'd be happy to comb over some options with you.
