Sony to profit after five-year slump
Sony is on track to return to profit for the first time in five years, as brutal restructuring and a weak yen help to slash the company’s formerly record losses.
The electronics company announced sharply lower net losses of 10.7 billion yen (£72.6 million) in the final three months of last year, compared with a Y158 billion loss a year earlier.
The company lost Y50.9 billion over the nine months to December 31, a 75 per cent improvement on the same period a year earlier, when it lost Y201.4 billion.
