Unbuntu hasn't been all it's cracked up to be for me.... had lots of problems with it.... .


Ubuntu makes some crazy choices that ends up hurting them. I wouldn't recommend them at all.

Meh, I can't even trust this company to put out a decent distro. of Linux. Every time I try to invest in Ubuntu as a desktop OS, it just fails miserably. The updates just tend to break more things, and it's generally not worth my time to fix issues. The only flavor *nix I've been very impressed with is at the enterprise level (AIX mainly). I just can't see this gaining mass traction, just with the geek community. Wish Canonical would invest their resources into building a more solid desktop OS.

Would be interesting to see if their mobile OSs gain better third-party app support compared to their desktop OS.
