Growled Member Posted February 20, 2013 Member Share Posted February 20, 2013 Thanks for the info. Sadly, I uninstalled java just a few days ago. For me it's just not worth the risk. +Warwagon 1 Share

grik
I hate Java updates, constantly popups with this. Need it to run one single program that needs Java, but this is ridiculous, just get an easier way to update, at least with no NEXT and NEXT and Clicks, just make it automatic and background if its really needed. BeerFan
It's funny that 6.41 even exists. They've said on the download site for several months that version 6.38 was the final one they would release in the 6.xx line.
tiagosilva29
It's funny that 6.41 even exists. They've said on the download site for several months that version 6.38 was the final one they would release in the 6.xx line.I am sure they did not state that. Java 6's Public End-Of-Life date was set to be 2012.11 but on August they changed it to 2013.02. So it is five days until they move Java 6 to the Java Archive. BeerFan
I am sure they did not state that. Java 6's Public End-Of-Life date was set to be 2012.11 but on September they changed it to 2013.02. So it is five days until they move Java 6 to the Java Archive. That's all correct. So is the fact that during 2013.02, when 6.38 was still current, their website said, "This is the last public release of Java 6." I know because my workplace was just about to push an update of 6.38 to about 4000 machines, when 6.41 suddenly became available. The SCCM admin and I got a WTFchuckle out of it. tiagosilva29
You went to java.com and not java.sun.com or its Oracle equivalent. Java.com is always outdated and overall full of fail.
