Are you guys even interested in the new consoles?

Yeah but the PC Master race likes to crow about how their graphics are always superior to that of consoles, try playing a latest game using a 3-4 year old graphics card, there is no way you can run them in anything higher than medium at native resolution.

I'd rather buy one ?350 box than 2 or 3 ?200+ graphics cards, ?150 processors, etc.. to guarantee gaming for 10 years.

Really? That's odd. My 6870 seems to be doing that just fine despite your claims of it being impossible.

True. I play everything maxed out on mine at 1080p, except I usually put FSAA at 2x.

I was going to mention that was only 2.5 years ago but then I remembered it's pretty much a 5850 rebranded heh

I for one am not interested. It was nice to see specs but that's all about it, and realization that crappy graphics will continue for 4 more years :D

My ati rad 5850 was good 3 years ago and it will probably last 2 more years.

It's not worth arguing they wont listen. PC master race gaming at max detail can't be done on one spec of PC through the 10 year life of a games console. You are going to have to upgrade at LEAST twice in the course of a console lifetime with a new graphics card, new processor, more memory, etc.. at least $/?500 a time.

Or you can buy a $/?300-400 console and be able to play the latest games for 10 years.

I upgraded once, thanks, and it was cheaper than my kids' Xbox 360 that collects dust while they game on the PC with wired Xbox controllers.

Why do people still continue to think PC gaming requires you to run everything on MAX at native resolution?

So what if a card from 4 years ago can only do medium settings. It still looks better (and in some cases performs better) than the console versions.

It irritates me when a console game is running at 30FPS and I cannot do anything about it.

So I believe the 360 and ps3 are my last consoles.

BTW, Don't you need three-way SLI to max out Crysis 3 anyway? That is not a fair comparison.

Also my Mac Pro came with a 2009 video card - ATI HD 5870. It is still able to max out everything at 720p at least. The ONLY reason I upgraded it to the GTX 680, is because Apple finally added support for the Kepler cards, and I prefer NVIDIA with CUDA cores. I do not want to get a QUADRO card because I still like to game, so the 680 has a decent amount of CUDA cores to help me with my projects.

The best part about PC gaming is that there are usually 3rd party mods, fixes, and/or tweaks to fix games. That's a huge thing considering how huge piles of ass games are when they are released.

I'll probably buy some the new consoles but it's all about the exclusives for me.

Hush now Peasant console owners, PC Master-race have spoken! :D I don't care about "next gen" (what a lol indeed) hardware which is the equivalent of running pc hardware that is 2-3 years old: finally welcome to true 1080 gaming.....finally....

Do you care about the complete lack of 64 bit games, DX11 games maybe catching up next year or the year after or you know, five+ years after its release...

The hardware doesn't really matter if the software isn't even taking advantage of it. Won't be a problem with the PS4.

I don't know if somebody said it before, did not read the complete 8 pages but.... I prefer PC gaming because.... of.... the trainers.... YEAH I SAID IT.

Not that I don't enjoy the challenge, but it's nice to know you can have a quick boost to help you out.

You don't get that on console....

Even if you're a diehard PC gamer (like myself), you should have a passing interest in the next console generation at least at this point in time.

The specification of those next-gen consoles will set the bottom line for the quality and technology used. The use of 8GB of RAM in the PS4 for instance will in all likelihood spur game developers to finally adopt 64-bit in their engines, and so on and so forth.

Anything that pushes devs into adopting proper multithreading and 64-bit, and targeted for x86 no less is very good news for the PC.

I'm still enjoying my PS3, so no. Not looking forward to having to drop $450+ on a new PS4 anytime soon.

I don't get this attitude. I mean, it's not like all PS3s will forever shut down upon PS4s launch, & it's not like you HAVE to buy it on day one.

I think he means something more on the lines of, He is still getting plenty of use out of his ps3, and doesn't want to have to get a ps4 due to the ps3 not getting certain games or as much focus due to the fact that there is a new system. He wants to get more out of the ps3 without feeling like its on its last leg.

But there's currently around 700 PS3 games out on disc not to mention all of the digital downloads available to play. I don't see why early adopters should have to wait around longer because those that joined late haven't had their fill yet. Some have been playing their X360 since '05 and PS3 since '06....we're now 7-8 years later and it's time for something new to come along as we're well over due in terms of console life cycles.
