Oregon man tattooed 15 year-old girl's vagina

Recommended Posts

Yes -- this is from January

CORVALLIS, OR - A man tattooed his name on the vaginal area of a 15-year-old girl while carrying on an illegal sexual relationship with the girl, a detective said in a sworn affidavit.

Matthew Abram Rader, 30, faces charges of third degree rape and sodomy; second degree online corruption of a minor; and a count of using a child in display of sexually explicit conduct.

The victim told police Rader gave her three tattoos - a butterfly with a skull on her neck, plus his name and a clover near her vagina - for her 15th birthday. Police think that means Rader and the girl started having sex when she was 14, according to the probable cause affidavit filed in Benton County Circuit Court.

However, the victim also told police she never told Rader her true age.

The investigation started in December 2012. Police interviewed the victim and reviewed dozens of pages of sexually explicit messages between her and Rader.

At one point, a detective assumed control of the victim's Facebook account with her permission and began communicating with Rader.

The detective, posing as the victim, asked Rader about nude photos the victim remembered Rader taking of her with a cell phone.

"Hey I was wondering if you still have those pics you took of me with your old cell phone???" the detective wrote. "Do you look at them often???"

The next day, Rader replied: "I don't have 'em or I would ... I need more."

"What kind of pics do you want???" the detective, posing as the girl, wrote back.

"I want full body pics, faces pics. I wanna see your nipples and MY (vagina) baby," Rader replied, according to the affidavit. "After all ... my name IS on it."

Police took Rader into custody January 2, 2013. He has entered pleas of not guilty to all the charges against him.

You missed the part where she did NOT tell her her correct age?

Are you seriously suggesting that this guy could not tell the difference between a 14 year old and an 18 year old? And don't you think that if her age was even remotely in question, that he should have asked?

I agree with the above posters, he could tell her age range. Question is if this guy victimized any more teens.

Exactly.

Even by the Golden Rule, she should be 22. C'mon, really.

I knew plenty of 18 year olds that barely look 15, and he did ask her, SHE LIED. :/

And no, the law says 17 is age of consent, screw your theoretical ethics. "Golden Rule"

Have you seen teenagers lately? It can be very very hard to distinguish a 15 year old from 18/19 year olds.

If they wanted, they could throw the book at him and get away with it probably. In Oregon - the law clearly outlines what constitutes underage activity sexually and not. Chapter 163 which is found here is fairly large and indepth. In Oregon, age of consent is 18. Even at that - if you are mentally incapacitated, challenged or otherwise 'not there' mentally it applies to any age.

Not a very smart person though in the least - tatooed his name then denies it.

You can debate whether he believed any lies she spoke about her age, but the bottom line is, he ignored any ideas in his mind that she was underage. Aside from that though, he probably knew anyway but didn't care. (Use my power of an adult to scare the girl so she won't tell) type of thing. Sadly, it happens a lot around the U.S. but is never reported.

This is why the "think of the children" law is so ****ed up.

The girl lied about her age, but there's no consequence. The man believed in the girl who told the truth can be (potentially) put on sexual offenders list.

I guess for now on, every teenager should carry an ID card to prove their age. It's sad the law doesn't punish lying.

Doesn't really matter a 30 yo man should know better. Even if she was looking 18 she was still borderline for him and he should have asked and even i would say meet the parents before going further.

If the guy would be in the low 20ies then it would be fine morally speaking imo (minus the stupid tattoo).

I don't think he's denying he did it, I think hes denying he did it to an underage person knowingly. And what "scare power" was he using, this girl obviously was interested and willfully played the game.

I've seen several 16 year-olds that look 12 -- and vice-versa.

Yeah there's no doubt.

The young actress in Moonrise Kingdom was looking a good 3 years older than she was when the movie was shot.

Still even if she was looking 18 i mean the guy is 30. With such an age difference imo you should try to know the girl and her family well before going further with the relationship.

Not really i think the law should apply to everyone. The law is often too easy on 30+ woman who date young 15- boys.

I dunno i just think a 30+ man should know better and doesn't have any excuse. He is not mature for his age i can tell you that.

Maybe you think so, but you know as well as me that the general tone by many of the posters would change dramatically.

He did ask, and she lied.

So what do you propose? Check IDs?

My god, what are you? 80?

What's maturity? Such an obsolete word, just as morality. How's a tat immoral?

Also, you missed the part where the guy did ask the girl her age, she lied. Why should he introduce himself to her parents? It was just a sexual relationship, yeah, that would be great 'Hi sir, nice to meet you, I'm doing your daughter'.

To say he has full responsibility is not only stupid, is sexist. She is as guilty if not more.
