ashpowell
Hi, Don't really know anything about graphics cards, but I know I need an upgrade and want to play the latest on the best graphics I can.. Should I go for the 660 ti or should I spend that bit extra and get the 670? Is the performance increase worth the money? I've researched as much as I can, and kinda picked up they both can handle the latest on high settings.. But can't really find any what compare the two Any help is appreciated. Thanks PS - Which should I go for in terms of Manufacturer? There's so many and I don't really know the difference
Farchord
The 670 will have a bit more 'Oomph'. It's really up to you.

Jub
EVGA GTX 670. No doubt. It's a lovely graphics card and overclocks quite easily. The stock cooler is decent too. :)
Elliot B.
I knocked this up for you: Prices are on the far right. You'll easily tell from the prices which one of the two is more preferable...
Wakers
670 is worth the extra money if you want / have it. It will play nearly every game on max settings at 1080p. It handles Crysis 3 on high settings. It will last you a bit longer than the 660Ti. One tip, don't do what I did and get the reference 670s, they're loud as hell when the fans get going. Sadly, they were all that were available in my region of Switzerland when I had to buy a new GPU. Am sorely tempted to replace the cooler on mine. Mando
I upgraded from a 570GTX to the EVGA 660ti 3Gb Superclocked model and tbh it wasn't as big a jump as I hoped, still a cracking card but I kinda wish I spent the extra ?50 on top of what I did for the wider memory bus of the 670GTX, it does make a hell of a difference, esp as you up your gaming resolution. +PeterUK MVC Posted February 24, 2013 MVC Share Posted February 24, 2013 The bus width for the memory 192 vs 256 bits gives a small boost in fps. http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/598?vs=
Open Minded
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-card-review,3107-5.html Tom's gives the 670 the thumbs up and gives no mention to the 660ti for best GPU for the money (Feb). I'd go with the 670 if you have the cash.
Japlabot
http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html The benchmark is 649 points higher so it seems that the extra 26mhz and wider memory bus makes a bit of a difference. Surprisingly the 690 scores worse than the 680 and 670 on this website. Overclocking can also close/widen the gap
ashpowell
Sorry I'm an idiot, the resolution is 1920 x 1080.. I have a spare ?300 so may go for the 670 then :) Thanks for all your input, all is appreciated.
