FAQ design

Hi everyone, I am designing my FAQ page and am trying to come up with a good way to represent the information. What's your recommendation for the design and functionality?

What I see most often is a categorized list of questions with and long connected paragraphs. you click on your question and it jumps to the paragraph with the answer.

I personally hate that format, what do you think?

Here's an FAQ i recently setup.. it consists of main/generalised FAQS in the list, then underneath they a separate into category tabs and are collapsed then clicked to reveal answer..

I personally do it this way:

* List of categories linking to specific category

* Each category has a header tag with category name

* Each category has a list of questions that are in an accordian

As has been said already, accordion is a popular way to do an FAQ. If you use jQuery and jQuery UI they have an accordion control built in, but there are plenty of plain Javascript and other jQuery/Mootools/pick-your-framework plugins that do the same.

but make sure there's a way to display everything at once, maybe a "expand all" button.
