Hello everyone,

Its been a while since my last post. :)

I have the next 2 hours to purchase an External Hard Drive for my Dell 4600c Windows XP Home x86.

Yes I know its a dinosaur.

So any recommendations,

I simply need to transfer about 450 GB of space at the moment, but it'd be nice to have space in the future,
your expertise is greatly appreciated. :)

I always recommend Seagate

seagates have always been very reliable for me. i've owned 4 seagate external drives (all different models as well) and not one has ever failed on me

I have had all kinds of drives, be it Seagate, Western Digital, etc...
I also had simply bought a drive and put it in an enclosure. This was in addition of the above Hitachi, Samsung,...
Never had any drive fail on me.
Just pick something big enough for your needs, for the amount you want to spend and with the connection you require. Apart from that, in my opinion, any brand is good. Though I would stick either to Seagate or WD, simply because where I usually buy the drives those have the best prices and are always available.
