Android 2.2 questions

Recommended Posts

I brought a Pandigital Tablet, running Android Eclaire (Android 2.2)

I have 3 questions/problems.

1 - My SD card I formally had in my Wii, is now used in this tablet. But permissions does not allow read or write, nor can I format it.

2 - How can I use the same HOSTS file from my Desktop, on the tablet ? Do I have to root it??

3 - If the HOSTS file install is too complicated, can I install an older version of Firefox on it ?

1.) If the card is not able to be read or written to, nor can it be formatted....is it locked? Where are you trying to format it?

2.) /system/etc/hosts However, you would need to be rooted or have root access to be able to change it/utilize it.

3.) What purpose would installing an old version of Firefox for Android have?

What model is the tablet?

Model of Tablet: Pendigital Novel (build 2011 03 31)

1 - Format it, plugged in the tablet.

3 - Latest Firefox Mobile is for Android 2.3 or higher, if remember correctly.

I have 2 SD cards, one 2 GB (currently in Tablet) and one 8 GM SD card

Format the card in your PC if you can, that will fix the issue in most cases.

As far as I know, Firefox is not compatible with 2.2. I tried with my 2.3 device and it wouldn't load on there. I now have 4.0.4 and it works there though.

Is there any other info with regards to the model? A model number or firmware number. I just want to make sure I point you in the right direction if you wanted to root or customize it at all (assuming there is a development community for that tablet).

If you're looking to block ads using a hosts file, look on the Play store for something called AdFree.
