Bisou the cat survives an unexpected journey from Cairo to Nottinghamshire after accidentally getting scooped up in her owner's luggage.

The seven-year-old Persian, had climbed into a suitcase at her home in Cairo, as her owner packed for a visit to her sister's home in Nottinghamshire.

The case was locked and nobody spotted the cat in security or customs, so she was put into the plane's hold along with hundreds of other bags for the six-hour flight to Heathrow.

Unable to find Bisou, a relative in Cairo rang her owner, who was already in a taxi on the M1 to Nottinghamshire.

Bisou was found trembling, but otherwise unhurt, in the suitcase and is now in quarantine at Calagran Kennels in Chesterfield, where she is still waiting for the all-clear to be shipped safely back to her owners in Egypt this summer.

I thought suitcases were scanned too? That's a little scary.

Maybe the luggage screener didn't see anything dangerous about a cat skeleton?

Everything is ugly in modern Egypt, so it belongs there.

That's part of the superior ancient Egyptian culture.
