Just received my Crossover 27Q LED 2560x1440p IPS

Recommended Posts

Replaced a TN panel (BENQ 120HZ) and this display is incredible. I took a risk and picked one up from eBay. So far no issues and no dead pixels.

Have you guys used this monitor or seen it in action? I highly recommend buying one for your PC setup.

Looks good to me. What are the colours like? Brightness? Have you tried watching any high quality movies or TV on it yet? Games, what about games!

If santa brings me (fat chance, I'm naughty) one of these for xmas - Oh sooo manny panels open in premiere...

Congrats on your investment! I have been rocking an HP 2311xl on my set up which has IPS and HDMI goodness etc. I know it is smaller than yours, but I know I have to break the habit of running my app windows full screen. :)

Again, Congrats and I am sure you will enjoy your new toy!

Looks like a remade Apple screen... How much it cost?

It is. Basically it is a factory rejected Apple screen as Apple only accepts A+ displays

Cost $380 with shipping + $60 in Duty taxes (CAD)

Congrats. I have a 30" 2560x1600 display and I love it. Once you go for something like that you can't go back to TN-panels.

So cross over takes rejected panels (but still good quality) and builds monitors? What kind of response time do they have for gaming? Giving up a 120HZ BENQ is a pretty big deal (that's what I have too).

OH! Are they VESA ready?

Dang those Korean ones really have gone up in price once they got more popular. I imported one this summer for $290 and it's flawless. It's a Dual-link DVI only version with no internal scalar, though. I don't know if you got the more expensive version with HDMI, DisplayPort, and VGA in addition to DL-DVI.

Anyone in the United States who is thinking about these, check out MicroCenter. They sell WQHD 27" monitors with U.S. warranties for $400. Great if you live near one.

All the super cheap Korean WQHD are usually A- grade panels. It's possible to get some with a few dead or bright pixels and some possible uneven back-lighting. I got really lucky with mine and it turned out to be perfect. I can't find any flaws with it. If the Korean ones had been available one year earlier I would have just bought 3-4 of those instead of my Dell U3011 + the Korean 27" panel. Would have been the same price.

MOST of the Korean monitors are VESA ready. It's easy to just Google the model you're looking at and see if it is. The ones that aren't VESA ready can be made VESA ready by removing some plastic from the back usually. The overall build quality and especially the stands on these monitors are quiet cheap, but hey, you're getting them for half or less the cost of the name brand monitors.
