Cloud Constructors Posted March 12, 2013 Share Posted March 12, 2013 Replaced a TN panel (BENQ 120HZ) and this display is incredible. I took a risk and picked one up from eBay. So far no issues and no dead pixels. Have you guys used this monitor or seen it in action? I highly recommend buying one for your PC setup. I have been rocking an HP 2311xl on my set up which has IPS and HDMI goodness etc. I know it is smaller than yours, but I know I have to break the habit of running my app windows full screen. :) Again, Congrats and I am sure you will enjoy your new toy! It's a Dual-link DVI only version with no internal scalar, though. I don't know if you got the more expensive version with HDMI, DisplayPort, and VGA in addition to DL-DVI. Anyone in the United States who is thinking about these, check out MicroCenter. They sell WQHD 27" monitors with U.S. warranties for $400. Great if you live near one. Giving up a 120HZ BENQ is a pretty big deal (that's what I have too). OH! Are they VESA ready? All the super cheap Korean WQHD are usually A- grade panels. It's possible to get some with a few dead or bright pixels and some possible uneven back-lighting. I got really lucky with mine and it turned out to be perfect. I can't find any flaws with it. If the Korean ones had been available one year earlier I would have just bought 3-4 of those instead of my Dell U3011 + the Korean 27" panel. Would have been the same price. MOST of the Korean monitors are VESA ready. It's easy to just Google the model you're looking at and see if it is. The ones that aren't VESA ready can be made VESA ready by removing some plastic from the back usually.
