Replacing iOS apps with Windows app store apps.

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone.

I am trying to switch from an iPhone 4, to a Lumina 920 phone, but my hang up is with the apps and not the device itself (In fact, I much more prefer the 920 design and hardware than an iPhone 5).

So, I was looking for some help from everyone, as to look or recommend apps that would replace or give me the same results as those apps from the apple store. Also, i have done some research and have found some but not all, and since I am new to the store, I was hoping someone with more experience and time using the Windows app store could help me.

Here is the list:

iOS APP---Windows Store App---Found Alternative

Skype---Skype---Check! (just an example)

Sportacular

Bria

Mapquest

Waze

Pandora

Check Please

Aroundme

Thats the list for now, although i could ask for more, but i know those apps are not available, such as Citi bank app, or HP printer controls.

Thanks everyone for the help.

Regards.

Zin.

Aroundme is available.

Check Please - there are a number of tip calculators (Tip! is one).

Mapquest - the Nokia Here Maps and Here City Lens apps do similar things (I never used Mapquest but by the look of it).

Waze - unfortunately not yet, but Nokia Here Drive does free Satnav

Sportacular - depends on which sports you are most interested in - but possibly ESPN.
