Reinstall Windows 8 on Surface Pro

Hey Guys,

A good friend of mine is dropping his Surface Pro over to mine tonight, he bought it on eBay and it had a hacky copy of Windows 7 installed on it. My questions is, how do I go about Reinstalling Windows 8 on this device? Sure, I can go and put a hacky KMS activated version of Windows 8 on it, but where would I get the product key etc? Is it on the Surface itself as per a laptops base?

Any help on this kind of stuff would be great.

Looks like just using a normal 'Install from USB' method, xcopy /s/e/f etc worked.
