Thanks for the patch^^ The WLM shut-off hit me today and so far the patch works! :D Though I wonder, are there any safety concerns with it? >.<

Why would there be? The developer is hardly an unknown hacker... It's not more less "safe" than A-Patcher, which removes ads from Messenger, and thousands have used that with no bother. All the patch does is mod the EXE to get rid of the forced update prompt.

Oh no no I should have worded that better, I didn't mean any concerns with the patch itself but rather if we might experience issues with our account on the long run since we use a unsupported version such a bugs happening because of API changes etc. :/

Well it won't really matter when they shut the network off anyway.

Well I wouldn't actually mind as my primary network is Astra anyway though there are some people I can't move away from MSN sadly >.<

I remember when I first started using the internet, we had AOL and it automatically loaded in AIM whenever you used the online service. So that was my messenger for a really long time.

Then I switched to MSN down the line.. as I figured out my British friends tended to use it. My American friends in general had AIM.

When I got a Mac I switched over to using Adium as my client...

... and I uninstalled it a couple of days ago. I've had IM programs open at all times on my computers since.. 2000? Maybe? Really is the end of an era!

You'd rather used a massively insecure P2P network, where your bandwidth will get used to help others file transfers, over the current system?

You're mad. :p

Also, when MS do finally shut it off, I won't be able to chat to anyone during those quiet moments at work anymore. Skype is banned at work and will remain so permanently, because of the P2P issues.
