God kills some innocent bystanders and plagues his most devout with grief just to tell Satan "I told you so" but it's okay because people are commodities that can be replaced two fold. Read again. "And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD." God let Satan attack.
