Wierd behaviour with this system..

Recommended Posts

It's a system from work that acts a little bit wierd since 3-4days. Simply won't login into windows (xp sp3) and often gives an alarm-signal(probably from motherboard) which force user to restart/shutdown. On bios-post simmilar with the img. attached the middle of the screen is full of "s" from "Processsss...sor".. temperatures are ok, no virus inside..cooler works as normal.. what can be done?

Could be a corrupted BIOS or faulty RAM

Try flashing the latest BIOS, if already on it, see if it will let you flash it again

Run memtest86+ on the RAM too

The latest version is pretty old : A7N266-VM BIOS 1007 2003.08.20 update :| .. tried with every single RAM but no changes.

Changing CMOS battery for ? I know that's responsable for date/time..there are more?

The problem is that I cannot start the O.S due this behaviour..

i would pop the cmos battery and then see if it still happens if it does you can try flashing the BIOS and see if that resolves the issue.

No, your OS is fine. All BIOS does is fax the information to your OS, not attached to it.

that's actually lolololololol. motherboard is laughing at you. :)

but on the real, sounds like faulty ram. try taking out the ram chips, cleaning then reseating. if you have more than one DIMM,try each separate.
