PixilEyes
For low budget PC gaming how does the community of Neowin feel about APU's? Will the APU market grow for budget builds and or light laptop gaming? I recently bought a inexpensive laptop with an A8-4500M and Radeon 7640G graphics. I'm quite shocked of how well it runs games for not having a huge gpu.
Draconian Guppy
I guess it beats having crappy integrated graphics ala intel GMA
threetonesun
I guess it beats having crappy integrated graphics ala intel GMA Even the HD4000 isn't that bad. I see nothing wrong with APUs. The only real issue has always been that integrated chips have been just a little bit behind being able to play the latest games at medium quality, but that's not always the case any more. If you can play something like Skyrim on an APU, I don't see how anyone could argue that they're bad.

spaceelf
My brother has a dual GPU Llano laptop that does very well. I expect to get a Kaveri system but I'm not sure it'll actually happen.

I'm using an AMD A8-3520M with a AMD HD6620G GPU. it plays games like a champ on high settings

I was surprised it doesn't support DX11.1 Intel is catching up...but they still have tons of work to do.
RottGutt
I just built a new system with the AMD A10-5800k, and can say I am extremely happy with it. It runs games much better than the Intel i3/i5 if you are using the integrated ATI 7660D GPU. It also cost over $100 less than the i5 I was going to get. It runs a tad warm, but I have an Evo 212 cooler on the way to take care of that. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113280 Tim
vcfan
haswell GT3 iGPU is supposed to equal performance to GT 650M. the a10-5800k is a good deal. you can get a core i3 with pretty much the exact same performance on the CPU side for the same price, but of course the APU has a much better GPU. But then again spend an extra $100 with either chip, and you can get a 7770 that will give you more comfortable gaming performance.
