hi guys,

I have a radeon 6870 card which has 2 dvi ports, single link and dual link. I currently have a 23" monitor in the single link, but was going to purchase a new 27" monitor (1080p) and was wondering if a single link dvi cable can be plugged into the dual link dvi port, because i would still like to use my 23" monitor as a dual. The HDMI port is already running to the tv, thus why i can't use that for a dual setup, but I want to use both dvi ports for my dual setup. Can this be done?

Yeah, dual-link DVI has more channels but is completely backwards compatible, will work just fine!
