So I've decided to join the g700 bandwagon

I've decided to buy one for $50 at best buy since it's on sale for this week only. Is there anything I need to know from your personal experience about this mouse besides that it's awesome?

You need to use it as a wired mouse 50% of the time. That's the only thing you need to know about it.

Logitech finally released the LGS software for it not too long ago, so make sure you download that. Really nice for configuring all the buttons and sensitivity settings.

Logitech software, on the other hand, always a bit shoddy. Also I've noticed that the lights on the side are not linear, three greens will last about 10 minutes, two greens about two hours, one green a day, red a few days of light use.

Also a braided mini-USB cable would nice, the cord that comes with it is oddly inflexible.

I've found it's heavily dependent on use and sensitivity (probably more so sensitivity).

Good to know LGS is finally out for it, I might scratch my previous comment regarding the software being shoddy.

I thought it had a really crappy battery life, until someone on this forum pointed out you can change the polling rate of the mouse, which affects battery life. I had mine set to 500 and it would barely last a day on wireless. I've since switched the polling rate to 125 and switched to "power saver" mode and the battery lasts significantly longer. I don't even really notice a difference in mouse performance.

Ouch.. I must just not be using mine that much.. just i only use that PC for gaming.. The 930 wireless headset they make is also amazing..

Not true. If you use it at the highest polling rate and such, you will need to charge it every night, and you may need to use it wired partly during marathons, but otherwise, it's fine. The wire is thick stiff and annoying though,

Since they changed from the old red config software for the mouse to the new infield G config software that works for all the G products I really like their software. And they actually made a software that works well not just for the mouse, but also keyboard and the G930 headset, which is kind of impressive.

Yeah but what's the point of buying such an expensive mouse (here it's 100$ CAD) if you're not gonna use it at the maximum of it's capacity ?

If the mouse was around 50 or 60$ then it would all be nice but at 100$ CAD + taxes (total of 115$ CAD) i expected A LOT more from it.

Like you said the cable is stiff and is annoying. The battery case cap is really cheap and break easily if you remove it every day (to replace the battery by one charged using an external charger).

The mouse is awesome. But i really wish the mouse would come with a charging dock like the g7 (or at least one would be sold separately giving users the choice of using the cable or an optional charging dock). Ultimately i returned the mouse and got a Mamba because i did not like to use the cable and i did not feel like removing the battery every day or so to charge it outside the mouse. I just wish Razer softwares and drivers would be actually good ... sadly they are awful.

The cable that came with my g700 isn't stiff at all. They must have used two different specs over the course of the mouse's release.

Two things will affect the battery life of this mouse. The Report (or polling) Rate and the Power Mode. If you aren't Mr. Twitch Gamer Guy you can vastly improve the battery life by dropping the Report Rate down to 500 or 125 and the Power Mode down to Normal Gaming or Power Saver.

If you aren't a gamer at all then you shouldn't be using anything other than Power Saver. The Normal Gaming and Max Gaming modes don't power down the mouse, if I recall correctly.

I really like this mouse because you have a cubic butt-load of buttons at your disposal & you don't have to contort your fingers into weird positions to reach them.

amazing mouse... the software is ok and the battery lasts a nice amount of time, the case cap is not that good (i whish the wireless adapter was somewhere else, cause i need to keep opening the cap)

The advantage of using the rechargeable battery is that, in a pinch, you can slap anything in. But, if you just charge it through the cord, it's not going to fall apart any time soon.

As for the price, it's worth it just for the feel and the extra buttons, TBH. It's not like you can get much cheaper and still have a solid feeling wireless mouse.

I didn't like the thumb buttons on it, i always accidentally hit them. Returned it, and bought the G500 which I love. By the way, they are releasing a new version soon, the G700s.

at any rate I don't see how the thumb buttons is a problem, even on my huge as thumbs I have ample room to hold the mouse under the buttons. and the buttons are hard enough to press that I have no problems moving the mouse holding the buttons, to press them I have to hold the mouse with my palm or pinky anyway.

Well, the highest I use is 1600 dpi since i'm not used to the fast pace of a 3200 dpi + but still getting there............

Well, I bought the mouse when it first came out. The buttons on the thumb area seemed to be way to easy to press. And it was not just my mouse, other people complained of the very same issue. Whenever I tried a FPS game, and had to lift the mouse, sometime I activated the first thumb button.. Maybe they had a revision on them and they are better now, but even then, I just didn't like the design all that much. Oh, and the mouse was way too heavy, and that was one of the reasons why it was so hard to lift it without hitting the button... can you imagine in a firefight? Disabling that first thumb button is not a solution, I need them.
