PETMAN, the anthropomorphic robot from DoD contractor Boston Dynamics is getting even more human-like. Boston Dynamics also makes the Big Dog pack-bot and the fastest legged robot - Cheetah.

That's amazing, but the biggest problems with human like robots is the ability to be stable on two legs on its own.

Very human like though.

I can imagine how terrifying it would be if a full army squad of those things invaded

Those cables are data/power and a non-supporting safety strap. Here's an earlier version taking some side impacts.

But sorry, 2 of the cables look very much to be attached to counterweights.
